Installation Options

The GitHub releases page is the primary place to download the latest Extraterm release.

Windows

• Installer: Download and run the installer named extraterm-setup...exe from the GitHub releases page.
• Chocolately: The command choco install extraterm.install --pre will install the prerelease Extraterm package. More information is on the https://chocolatey.org/packages/extraterm.install.
• Zip file: Download the zip file named extraterm-...-win32-x64.zip and unzip it somewhere. Extraterm.exe can be run directly without any other installation needed.

macOS

• DMG: Download the extraterm...dmg file from the GitHub releases page, and open it.
• Homebrew: Extraterm is available on Homebrew under the name extraterm.

Linux

• Zip file: Download the zip file named extraterm-...-linux-x64.zip and unzip it somewhere. extraterm executable can be run directly without any other installation needed.
• Arch Linux package: An Extraterm package is available named extraterm-bin.
